Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Amped Apps ("Hivee," "we," "us") and govern your use of the Hivee iPhone app, the Hivee Android app, the Hivee web app at app.gohivee.com, our website at gohivee.com, and our waitlist (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Your account
You can sign in to Hivee with Sign in with Apple, your Google account, or an email address and password. Whichever you choose, it's the same Hivee account across your iPhone, your Android phone and the web app โ your hives follow your account, not your device.
You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your devices and password secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Hivee. You can delete your account at any time in either mobile app via Profile โ Delete Account, which permanently removes your cloud data.
2. Your content stays yours
Your hive records, inspection notes, photos, business records and anything else you put into Hivee belong to you. By using Hivee, you give us the limited permission we need to store, sync, back up and display that content to you โ that's what makes the app work. Where you deliberately share something (a community post, or an apiary you share with a mentor), you're also giving us permission to show it to the people you shared it with.
We don't sell your content, and we don't use your photos or records for anything other than operating and improving the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Ask Hivee & beekeeping information
๐ Please read this one carefully.
Ask Hivee is an AI assistant, and Hivee's health scores, tips, guides, reminders, Weekly Rundowns and weather guidance are informational tools. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they are not professional, veterinary, agricultural, financial, tax or legal advice.
- You are responsible for all decisions about your bees โ inspections, treatments, feeding, splits, and everything else in the yard.
- Verify anything important (especially disease identification and treatment) with a local expert, your bee club, or your state apiarist before acting.
- You're responsible for complying with the laws in your area, including hive registration, treatment regulations, pesticide rules, and any labelling or food-safety rules that apply to honey you sell.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for colony losses, swarms, failed queens, honey production, treatment outcomes, or other beekeeping results.
4. The community (The Hive)
Hivee includes a community feed where keepers post questions, photos and updates, comment on each other's posts, follow each other, and share short-lived story photos. When you post, you're publishing to other signed-in Hivee keepers, and you're responsible for what you share.
Don't post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, deceptive, spam, or that infringes someone else's rights. Don't impersonate other people, and don't post someone else's photos or writing as your own.
- Reporting and blocking. Every post has a report option, and you can block any keeper โ their posts and comments stop appearing for you.
- We can remove content. We may remove posts, comments, photos or screen names, and suspend or terminate accounts, when they break these Terms โ with notice where it's reasonable to give it.
- Screen names are first-come, first-served, tied to your account, and can be reclaimed if they impersonate someone or are used abusively.
- You give other keepers nothing but visibility. Posting doesn't transfer ownership of your photos or words to us or to anyone else.
5. Mentor Connect
You can invite another keeper to be your mentor. If they accept, they get read-only access to your hives and your inspections โ nothing else. They cannot edit your records, and they never see your sales, expenses, customers or tax documents. You can disconnect at any time from either side, and their access ends when you do.
Mentors are keepers, not vetted experts, and Hivee doesn't verify anyone's credentials. What a mentor tells you is their opinion, and section 3 applies to it.
6. My Beesiness โ your records, not our books
Hivee Pro includes tools for recording the products you sell, your sales and your expenses, and for producing an Income & Expense Summary and printable jar labels.
- Hivee does not process payments. We never touch your money. When you record a sale, you're writing down something that happened somewhere else.
- The summary is a summary. It reports category totals from what you entered. It isn't tax advice, applies no jurisdiction-specific treatment, and should be verified against your own source records before you file anything.
- Your customer list is yours. It's built from the contact details you type in, it can be exported as a CSV whenever you like, and we don't market to the people on it.
- Labels are your responsibility. What you put on a jar โ weight statements, ingredients, claims, QR links โ has to meet the rules where you sell.
7. Free plan, subscriptions, and club seats
Hivee offers a free plan and paid subscriptions ("Hivee+" and "Hivee Pro") that unlock additional features, including the web app. Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are governed by that store's terms, including its billing, renewal and refund policies. Manage or cancel a subscription in the store account you bought it with โ we can't cancel it for you.
A subscription follows your Hivee account, so it works across your phone and the web app. It does not transfer between Apple and Google: if you bought on one and switch to the other, cancel with the original store or you'll be billed twice.
Club seats. A bee club may give you a code that seats you on Hivee+ features without a subscription. Seats are limited, belong to the club, and end when the club's arrangement ends or the seat is reclaimed. A code is for one keeper โ don't share it publicly.
Prices, tiers and included features may change; we'll communicate changes clearly before they affect you. Free-plan limits (such as monthly Ask Hivee questions) may be adjusted over time.
8. Waitlist & Founder badges
Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee access by a particular date, and early-access builds (e.g., via TestFlight or Play testing tracks) are pre-release software that may change or break. Founder badges are a cosmetic thank-you tied to your account: they're limited in number, non-transferable, and have no monetary value.
9. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service. That includes: attempting to access other keepers' data, reverse-engineering or disrupting the Service, scraping it, using automated tools to create accounts or posts, using Ask Hivee to generate harmful or unlawful content, attempting to work around subscription gates or usage limits, or using the Service in a way that violates applicable law.
10. Our stuff
The Hivee name, logo, design, guides and software are owned by Amped Apps and protected by intellectual-property laws. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own beekeeping โ including printing labels and reports for your own operation. These Terms don't give you rights to our trademarks.
11. The Service is provided "as is"
We work hard to make Hivee reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost โ please keep your own records for anything critical.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Amped Apps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, colonies, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Termination
You can stop using Hivee at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service; where reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to export your data.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If a change is material, we'll update this page and notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.
